“Manchester frente al Mar” is a Complete Home Renovation in Bizkaia developed by Tabula Studio in a detached house located in Bermeo, facing the sea. The project began as a partial renovation with a full impact on the ground floor, completely reorganising the spaces: kitchen, dining room, living room, bathrooms and a playroom, or “jolasgela”.

The main premise of the new layout was to enhance the sea views, especially from the kitchen, which has now become the focal point of the space.

The ground floor is arranged across three split levels. This particular feature has been emphasised through the flooring materials: natural oak in the entrance area and sitting room, and large-format MAGRES porcelain tiles in stone tones in the main area. This visually defines the different uses of the space while introducing distinct textures.

The colour palette responds to the exterior surroundings: stone, wood and vegetation have shaped the design direction. This approach reflects our way of understanding Interior Design in Bizkaia, integrating durable materials and aesthetic coherence throughout all rooms.

The kitchen, by the Basque firm Logos, features a large island incorporating the cooking area, clad in a single piece of ARIDANE granite by Naturamia. It is the central element of the project, both in terms of functionality and visual presence, bringing together the entire intention of the project in one single piece.

The dining area, located at the centre of the floor plan, opposite the island, is illuminated by the KATE pendant light by KDLN, selected to break the symmetry of the composition without interrupting the views from the kitchen island, while also ensuring efficient and uniform lighting.

The chairs are by ONDARRETA, MIBU model. The lounge armchair in the corner is the LANA model by the same firm, placed on a Woop Rugs rug.

The bathrooms follow the same design and material logic, reinforcing the unity of the whole. Ultimately, this is a Complete Home Renovation in Bizkaia where every technical and aesthetic decision responds to a clear intention: to improve the client’s quality of life through design, with functional, contemporary solutions adapted to the context.
