This partial renovation in Castro Urdiales focuses on reorganising the day area to gain spaciousness, functionality and spatial continuity. The former hall is removed in order to incorporate its surface area into the living-dining room, creating a single, larger and brighter environment.
The original flooring is preserved, redrawing the transition between rooms through a new herringbone layout of the pieces. This visually unifies the space without losing the identity of the existing floor.
The kitchen is redistributed to optimise the entry of natural light and connect directly with a new laundry area. The furniture is by Logos Scoop and the appliances are by Pando. This solution combines aesthetics and functionality, with durable finishes designed for the intensive seasonal use typical of a second home.
The guest bathroom is enlarged to include a larger walk-in shower and a bigger washbasin, with a terrazzo countertop and a natural oak vanity unit.
New wardrobe equipment is designed throughout the home, with lacquered and rattan fronts that bring visual lightness and a relaxed character, adapted to summer use. The interior carpentry and the partitions for the kitchen and private area are made of oak with linen-textured glass, with a carefully detailed design that conceals the existing structural beams and offers a clean reading of the space.
This project is an example of how renovating an apartment in Castro Urdiales can significantly improve the use of space and update finishes without the need for a complete renovation.
